ICU Travel Nurse — San Diego, CA

13-Week Contract | Days 3x12 | 07:00–19:30

This opportunity is based within a multi-campus health system in San Diego, supporting adult critical care across facilities that manage high-acuity, complex patient populations including trauma, neurosurgical, cardiovascular, and multisystem organ failure cases.

Shift & Scheduling

• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• 4 weekend shifts per 4-week cycle required
• At least one holiday shift required, including the associated holiday weekend
• Float required: ICU, SDU, or Tele level only (no ED); may be asked to float to another campus within the health system

Required Certifications

• AHA BLS
• AHA ACLS
• NIHSS
• TNCC (preferred/required per assignment)

Clinical Skills & Scope

Candidates should be proficient in a broad range of critical care competencies, including:

• Ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula
• Arterial line, central line, and CVP monitoring
• Vasoactive and cardiac drip titration; IV insulin and sedation/paralytic protocols
• EVD, ICP monitoring, lumbar drains, post-craniotomy/neurosurgery care
• CVVHD/CRRT, acute/chronic renal failure management
• CVA/acute stroke management, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury
• Pre/post cardiac cath, procedural sedation, sheath removal
• Blood product administration, phlebotomy, 12-lead ECG

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of concurrent ICU experience
• Travel nursing experience required
• Active California RN license required at time of submission (Temp or Perm)
• No candidates located within 100 miles of San Diego
