Labor & Delivery RN — Night Shift | Bakersfield, CA | 13-Week Contract
This Labor & Delivery travel nursing position offers night shift coverage in a busy obstetric unit in Bakersfield, California. The facility serves a diverse patient population and expects clinicians who can work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Shift Details
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 36–48 hours per week guaranteed (36 hours guaranteed)
- 13-week contract | Estimated start: October 2026
- Holiday RTO will not be approved
- Floating to a nearby network facility required as needed
Clinical Scope
- Coordinated nursing care across the Labor & Delivery continuum
- Assessment, diagnosis support, care planning, and ongoing evaluation
- Fetal heart monitoring and neonatal resuscitation readiness
- Discharge planning and continuity of care
- Supervision and delegation to various levels of nursing staff
Required Certifications & Licensure
- Active RN license in California (or compact eligibility)
- BLS (American Heart Association or equivalent)
- ACLS
- Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
Experience & Preferences
- Minimum 2 years of recent L&D experience required
- BSN preferred
- Familiarity with electronic health records strongly preferred
