Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery / NICU
Position Overview
Join the nursing team in a busy labor and delivery unit with neonatal intensive care services. You'll provide coordinated care to mothers and newborns across labor, delivery, postpartum, and NICU settings. This role requires strong clinical judgment, the ability to supervise nursing staff, and seamless collaboration with obstetricians, neonatologists, and the broader care team.
Your Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care using the nursing process: assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate.
- Supervise and coordinate activities of assigned nursing staff.
- Manage labor and delivery patients through all stages; provide postpartum and neonatal care.
- Perform fetal monitoring and interpret strips; support normal labor progression and complications management.
- Participate in neonatal resuscitation and care of high-risk newborns.
- Educate patients and families; coordinate discharge planning.
- Delegate appropriately and communicate with the interprofessional team.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license (state of practice).
- Minimum two years recent acute care experience.
- Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Intermediate fetal monitoring experience required.
Preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN).
- Labor and delivery or NICU nursing experience.
Schedule
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 12-hour shifts; 36–48 hours per week
- 10-week contract
Eggplant-colored scrubs (provided if needed).
