NICU Registered Nurse — Bakersfield, CA
Days | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 36 Hours/Week | 13-Week Contract
This NICU position supports the care of neonatal patients in an acute care setting, delivering coordinated, evidence-based nursing within an established standards-of-care framework. The unit requires experienced clinicians comfortable managing complex newborn cases and working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Shift Details
- Day shift only; 36-hour weeks required
- Holiday RTO will not be approved during the contract period
- Start date: October 26, 2026
Clinical Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and develop individualized care plans for neonatal patients
- Implement and evaluate care plan outcomes, adjusting as clinical needs evolve
- Coordinate with physicians, specialists, and support staff to ensure safe, continuous care
- Provide education and support to patients' families throughout the care journey
- Participate actively in discharge planning to promote continuity of care
- Delegate appropriately to ancillary nursing staff
Required Credentials
- Active RN licensure in California (or compact eligibility)
- BLS certification (AHA)
- AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS certification
- S.T.A.B.L.E. certification
- Minimum 2 years of recent NICU experience
- Electronic health records proficiency required
Preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
