Orthopedic-Neurosurgical Nursing — 12-Hour Night Shift

The Opportunity

The facility is seeking an experienced RN for its Ortho-Neuro unit. You'll care for patients recovering from elective orthopedic procedures (hip, knee, shoulder) and neurosurgical interventions, as well as patients admitted with fractures and other acute conditions. This is a fast-paced, procedurally focused environment.

Shift & Schedule

• 12-hour nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (includes 30-minute lunch break)
• Every-other-weekend requirement (Friday, Saturday, Sunday for night shifts)
• Holiday coverage based on unit needs
• Block scheduling available if unit census permits
• Call-off possible for low census (details to be discussed with your recruiter)

The Unit

Patient population includes post-operative orthopedic and neurosurgical cases, trauma from falls, and general medical-surgical patients. Remote telemetry monitoring is in place; RNs do not read cardiac strips.

Key Requirements

• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• Strong experience with orthopedic patient care and PCA pump management
• RN license (will verify current, valid license)

Clinical Scope

You'll manage IV fluids and PCA pumps (non-titratable). Patient Care Techs handle vitals, fingerstick blood sugars, ADLs, and Foley removals. Respiratory equipment (CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen) is managed by respiratory therapy.

Floating & Orientation

Travelers float as needed to other medical-surgical units.Dress Code

Royal blue scrubs; no hoodies or sweatshirts.
