CVOR Scrub Technician
Location: Asheville, NC
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36/week
About the Role
The facility's cardiothoracic operating room is seeking an experienced CVOR scrub technician to join a high-volume surgical program. You'll support a range of open-heart and thoracic procedures in a fast-paced, efficient environment.
Required Qualifications
- CST certification and current BLS required
- Extensive CVOR scrub experience mandatory
- Minimum 2 completed travel assignments required
Clinical Scope
The unit performs a broad spectrum of cardiothoracic and thoracic procedures, including:
CABG, valve replacement, VAD insertions, TAVR, VATS, lobectomy, pacemaker/AICD insertions, septal myectomy, Ross procedure, EVH, IABP insertions, femoral cannulation, and procedures requiring circulatory arrest.
All cases are staffed with 1 scrub and 1 circulator. Pump cases require an additional first assist/heart holder (RN or CST). First assist experience is preferred but not required.
Unit Details
- 6 operating rooms
- Stryker equipment
- Minimal floating; on-call shifts rotated among staff
- Hospital provides scrubs; surgical attire policy applies
- Unit includes charge nurse, unit secretary, PCA, and core tech support
