NICU Registered Nurse — Bakersfield, CA
Nights | 4 x 12-Hour Shifts | 13-Week Contract
A California hospital is seeking an experienced NICU Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment. This night shift role runs 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM with a guaranteed 36 hours per week and the option to pick up 48-hour weeks.
Unit & Clinical Scope
You'll provide coordinated nursing care for neonatal patients in an acute care NICU setting. Responsibilities include patient assessment, developing and implementing care plans, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, family education, and supporting discharge planning. The role requires supervisory judgment and the ability to delegate appropriately to other nursing staff.
Schedule & Requirements
- Shift: Nights, 4 x 12 hours (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Contract: 13 weeks | Start: October 26, 2026
- Holiday RTO will not be approved
Required Certifications & Licensure
- Active RN license (California or compact)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) — AHA required
- AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS — required
- S.T.A.B.L.E. Certification — required
Experience & Education
- Minimum 2 years of recent NICU experience required
- BSN preferred
- Prior experience with electronic health records required
