Labor and Delivery Nurse
Position Overview
The facility seeks a Labor and Delivery Nurse to provide comprehensive care to patients and families during antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods. You will manage emergency situations including crash C-sections and assist with operative deliveries. This is an LDRP model unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor fetal and maternal well-being, amniotic fluid status, and vaginal bleeding
- Recognize and manage perinatal emergencies (crash C-section, precipitous delivery, shoulder dystocia)
- Implement pain management strategies, including epidural monitoring and alternative methods
- Supervise and delegate care to ancillary personnel within their scope of practice
- Develop and execute multidisciplinary, goal-oriented care plans
- Educate patients and families across all perinatal stages
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Nursing (or equivalent)
- Two years recent Labor and Delivery experience
- Current RN license (state of practice)
- BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certifications
- Electronic health record (EHR) proficiency
Schedule & Details
- Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- 36 hours per week (rotating shifts)
- No on-call required
- 18-week contract
- Location: Templeton, CA
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
