Night Shift | 13-Week Contract
This Labor & Delivery position operates within an LDRP model, providing comprehensive care to patients through the antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods. The unit manages the full spectrum of perinatal care, including emergency situations such as crash C-sections, precipitous deliveries, and shoulder dystocia, with the L&D nurse also circulating for C-sections.
Shift & Schedule
- Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- 36 hours per week, rotating shifts
- No call required
Clinical Responsibilities
- Perform physical and psychosocial assessments with cultural sensitivity, including fetal demise support
- Develop and implement multidisciplinary, goal-oriented care plans
- Assess fetal and maternal well-being; recognize and manage abnormalities in amniotic fluid status, vaginal bleeding, and fetal heart rate patterns
- Manage labor pain, including support for epidural catheter placement and monitoring during/after medication administration
- Educate patients and families across all stages of the perinatal and postpartum periods
- Accurately document all nursing care in a timely manner
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience
- Active RN license (California or compact)
- BLS, ACLS, NRP certifications
- AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification
- Familiarity with electronic health record documentation
Preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
