Night Shift | 13-Week Contract | 36 Hours/Week
This Labor & Delivery position is based at an acute care facility in Templeton, CA — a charming Central Coast community surrounded by oak trees, farm-to-fork dining, and easy access to beaches at Cambria and Morro Bay.
About the Role
The facility operates on an LDRP model, providing continuous care across antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum stages. You'll manage the full spectrum of perinatal nursing, including circulating for C-sections, managing epidural catheter placement, and responding to emergencies such as crash C-sections, precipitous deliveries, and shoulder dystocia.
Shift Details
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- 36 hours/week, rotating shifts
- Note: This role will initially begin on day shift (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM) while internal staffing transitions are completed. Flexibility to work both shifts during this transition period is required.
- No on-call required
Required Certifications & Licensure
- Active RN license (CA or applicable compact)
- BLS, ACLS, NRP
- AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
- Minimum 2 years recent Labor & Delivery experience
Clinical Scope
- Assessment of fetal and maternal well-being throughout labor
- Pain management, including support for alternative methods and epidural monitoring
- Management of perinatal emergencies
- Patient and family education tailored to cultural and developmental needs
- Accurate, timely nursing documentation
