Telemetry Nurse – Medical/Surgical and Specialty Units
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week contract on multiple medical/surgical and specialty nursing units. You'll work 12-hour shifts in a fast-paced acute care environment, floating between different departments to support patient care across the organization.
Schedule & Shift Details
- 12-hour shifts: two shifts 3:00 PM–11:30 PM and two shifts 7:00 AM–7:30 PM per week (40 hours)
- Every other weekend and holiday work required
- Most Fridays will be needed; no extended time-off requests accommodated
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
Clinical Scope
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of recent acute care experience
- Stepdown experience required for night shifts
- Ability to independently interpret telemetry strips
- Must pass on-site competency exam on Day 1 with 84% or higher (2 attempts permitted)
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certification
- At least one recent successful travel contract
- Quick adaptability to multiple unit environments
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of float experience
- Psychiatric nursing experience
- Experience with common hospital charting systems
