Night Shift Med/Surg/Tele Nurse
About the Role
Join the nursing team at the facility's med/surg/tele unit for night shifts.The clinical scope includes dysrhythmia interpretation and management, rapid response team coordination, peripheral line care, airway management, and oxygen administration. You'll work alongside physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, social services, and other interdisciplinary support.
Shift & Schedule
- Shift: Night 3x12-hour or 4x12-hour (18:30–07:00)
- Schedule options: 36/36, 36/48, or 48/48
- Weekend coverage: Every other weekend; no call required
- Float requirement: Yes, to other units as needed
- Orientation: Begins on Sunday with online modules (non-billable time included)
- Contract duration: 13 weeks
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year med/surg nursing experience
- Community hospital experience required
- Current AHA BLS certification (NIHSS preferred)
- Current RN or LPN license
- Must live at least 100 miles from the facility
- First-time travelers welcome
Important Notes
You must pass a Relias basic EKG test within 72 hours of offer acceptance (two attempts allowed). Drug screening must be completed 12–14 days prior to start. Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC fit-testing guidelines. Contract RNs/LPNs participate in nursing student support and clinical education.
