Oncology Nurse – Night Shift

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced Oncology RN for a 17-week night assignment on a dedicated oncology unit. This role offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive care across the full continuum of oncology nursing—from initial diagnosis through end-of-life support.

Shift & Schedule

• 4 × 12-hour nights: 19:00–07:00
• Every other weekend
• Float within facility (and possibly to an affiliated campus 3 miles away)
• No on-call requirement
• Maximum 7 days RTO per contract

Clinical Scope

You'll care for adult and geriatric patients with oncology and hematology diagnoses, including DNR/comfort-care cases and oncologic emergencies. Daily responsibilities include:

• Chemotherapy administration with strict precautions
• Management of ports and central lines
• Morphine and dilaudid infusions, PCA pumps, and CADD pumps
• Blood and blood product administration
• Neutropenic precautions
• Occasional off-unit assignments

Unit Details

• Interdisciplinary support: IV team, pharmacy, physical therapy, respiratory, social services, and more
• Scrub color: Navy blue

Requirements

• License: RN (GA or Compact)
• Certifications: BLS and OCN required
• Experience: Minimum 2 years; first-time travelers welcome
• Preferred: Charge experience, port/line management skills
