Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery
Position Overview
The facility seeks an experienced Labor and Delivery nurse for a 13-week contract. You'll provide direct care to pregnant patients at all gestational ages, from through postpartum recovery, and assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and high-risk obstetric cases.
Shift & Schedule
- Rotating 4x12-hour shifts: Days (7 a.m.–7 p.m.) and nights (7 p.m.–7 a.m.)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call obligation
- 13-week contract duration
Required Licenses & Certifications
- Active New York State RN license (single-state; NY is not Compact)
- ACLS or OB-ACLS, BLS, NRP, and EFM certification
Core Clinical Responsibilities
- Assist with vaginal delivery and cesarean circulation
- Manage postpartum care including fundal checks, lochia assessment, and hemorrhage prevention
- Administer medications including magnesium sulfate, Pitocin, and terbutaline
- Perform fetal heart monitoring (EFM) and non-stress tests
- Place and calibrate intrauterine pressure catheters (IUPC)
- Provide newborn assessment, APGAR scoring, and thermoregulation
- Support couplet care and breastfeeding
Unit Details
The unit welcomes pregnant patients across all gestational ages and manages both low-risk and high-risk deliveries. evaluates all pregnant patients and postpartum patients within six weeks of delivery. You'll have access to private birthing suites, on-unit operating rooms, and advanced fetal monitoring technology.

Required to float within your skill set as needed.
Additional Requirements
- Candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible
