Cath Lab / Interventional Radiology — Travel Assignment | Oakland, CA

4x10 Days (07:00–17:30) | 13-Week Contract

This combined cardiac catheterization and interventional radiology position offers hands-on involvement in a broad range of high-acuity procedures. You'll function across a multi-room procedural suite supporting both cardiology and IR services, caring for patients presenting with CAD, peripheral vascular disease, PAD, and trauma.

Clinical Scope

Responsibilities include cardiac and peripheral angiograms, STEMI response, PCI, TAVR, EP studies, pacemaker and AICD insertions, cardiac ablation, left atrial appendage closure, IVC filter placement and removal, TIPS, chemoembolization, radioembolization, nephrostomy, biliary drainage, thoracentesis, and additional complex IR procedures. Candidates must be comfortable scrubbing and circulating, maintaining sterile field, and hemodynamic monitoring.

Shift & Schedule

• 4x10-hour day shifts; start time 07:00
• 1 weekend rotation per month (Friday–Monday)
• On-call: 4–6 calls per week during weekdays

Required Certifications & Licensure

• ARRT (R)
• BLS, ACLS
• California Fluoroscopy Permit
• Valid California license (required at submission)

Preferred Certifications

• ARRT (CI)
• CCI RCIS

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years in cath lab or IR
• STEMI call experience required
• Structural heart, vascular IR, and EP procedure experience required
• First-time travelers accepted

Additional Details

• 40-hour orientation
• Floating within the hospital may be required
• 75-mile radius rule applies
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
