Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit

Location: Greeley, CO

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented RN for its Progressive Care Unit (PCU). You'll care for moderate-acuity patients transitioning from ICU or at risk of clinical deterioration—patients requiring closer monitoring than med-surg but not intensive care-level intervention.

Key Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs, identifying and responding promptly to patient condition changes
• Administer medications, including IV drips, per physician orders
• Assess and manage patients in transition, collaborating with physicians and the interdisciplinary team on care plans
• Respond to rapid response and code interventions as needed
• Educate patients and families on their condition, treatment, and recovery
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation
• Manage a moderate patient load (typically 3–4 patients)
• Uphold infection control and fall prevention protocols

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (state or compact)
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Colorado CAPS certification required
• Minimum 1+ years PCU or step-down experience
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and moderate-acuity patient care
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
• PCCN certification preferred

Schedule & Float

• Every other weekend and holiday per unit rotation
• Expected to float to other PCU or med-surg units at affiliated campuses as needed
