Medical ICU / PCU Overflow RN — Night Shift | Asheville, NC

This 13-week night shift assignment (18:45–07:15) places you in a Medical ICU/PCU overflow unit managing high-acuity critical care patients. The unit operates as a true hybrid environment, requiring flexibility across both ICU and PCU levels of care.

Unit & Clinical Scope

• High-acuity medical ICU patients requiring ventilator management, advanced hemodynamic monitoring, and critical care pharmacology (IV sedation, paralytics, vasopressors)
• Central line management and assistance with bedside procedures including chest tube insertions and intubations
• Targeted Temperature Management (TTM) protocols

Schedule & Expectations

• 12-hour night shifts | 36 guaranteed hours/week
• Every other weekend required; holiday support expected
• No on-call requirement
• Floating is required
• Bedside shift report mandatory; relief charge nurses expected to perform nurse leader rounding

Required Skills & Certifications

• Medical ICU experience required
• Proficiency in hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management
• Critical thinking and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
• BLS and ACLS required

Dress Code: Navy blue or white scrubs
