Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36/week
About the Unit
The unit specializes in care following open heart surgery (CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR), thoracic procedures, and vascular interventions (AAA repair, fem-pop bypass, carotid endarterectomies). You'll also care for overflow medical cardiology patients presenting with heart failure, chest pain, sepsis, and arrhythmias.
What You'll Do
- Manage epidurals and chest tubes
- Administer cardiac drips (phenylephrine, dobutamine, dopamine, milrinone, amiodarone, nitroglycerin, ketamine, insulin, heparin)
- Provide tube feeding and IV medication management
- Work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
Requirements
Must have:
- Stepdown experience
- Telemetry certification
Preferred:
- Recent CV surgery or vascular surgery population experience
- CVICU background
Certifications: ACLS and BLS
Schedule & Flexibility
- Weekends: Minimum 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
- No call
- Float to: Any step-down or med-surg unit, or ER inpatient holding area
- Dress code: All navy or all white
