MRI Technologist – Acute Care
The facility's diagnostic radiology department is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist to join the team on a 13-week contract. This is a day-shift role (7:30 AM–6:00 PM) in a fast-paced acute care setting.
About the Role
You'll perform magnetic resonance imaging exams according to physician orders, selecting appropriate protocols to ensure diagnostic quality. Your responsibilities include:
- Screening patients and staff for MRI safety, identifying contraindications (implants, devices, metal, pregnancy status)
- Positioning patients accurately and operating MRI equipment to optimize image quality
- Preparing and administering contrast media as ordered, with monitoring for adverse reactions
- Maintaining strict adherence to MRI safety zones and protocols
- Documenting exams and maintaining accurate records in imaging information systems
- Collaborating with radiologists and referring physicians on imaging needs
- Troubleshooting equipment issues and coordinating with service support
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology or MRI program
- ARRT certification in MRI (ARRT-MR) required, or ARRT (R) with MRI eligibility
- State radiologic technology license (as applicable)
- BLS certification required
- Hands-on experience with both Toshiba and systems
- IV certification/venipuncture skills preferred
- 1+ years of MRI experience preferred
