Labor & Delivery / Postpartum Nurse – 12-Hour Nights
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced L&D/Postpartum nurse for 12-hour night shifts (7 PM–7 AM). This is a 13-week contract with guaranteed 36 hours per week.
Unit Details
You'll work in a busy labor and delivery and postpartum service managing high-risk deliveries, EMT drop-offs, and patients with varied social circumstances including substance use withdrawal. The unit averages approximately 3 births per day. Charge nurses and resource nurses support the team; OB techs assist with cesarean sections, deliveries, and patient intake.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct care to laboring and postpartum patients
- Circulate cesarean sections (scrubbing not required; circulation skills essential)
- Float between L&D, postpartum, and NICU (caring for grower/feeders)
- Work collaboratively with on-call OB/neonatologists (available within 30 minutes)
- Manage diverse patient populations, including Spanish-speaking patients and those without prenatal care
Requirements
- 2–3 years of nursing experience
- At least one prior travel assignment preferred
- Current ACLS, BLS, NRP, and advanced fetal monitoring certification (AWOHNN intermediate or advanced)
- L&D nurses must have postpartum experience
- Willingness to work 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
- Optional on-call availability (inquire during interview)

24/7 respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and nursing support. 3-shift floor-specific orientation included.
