NICU/Nursery RN – 12-Hour Night Shift

Shift & Schedule

• 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM, 12-hour nights
• Weekends and holidays required
• Block scheduling; approximately 4 weekend shifts per 6-week cycle
• Mandatory call shift every 12 weeks
• Hospital policy allows up to 4 shift cancellations per 13-week assignment

About the Unit

Level II NICU/Nursery with 6 designed beds and 2 transition beds (capacity expands to 8 with adequate staffing). You'll manage patients with common neonatal diagnoses including TTN, RDS, feeder growers, hyperbilirubinemia, and hypoglycemia. The unit supports deliveries and postpartum care.

Your Role

• Attend deliveries and provide postpartum care

• Monitor and titrate general fluids (TPN, dextrose); higher-acuity patients transfer to tertiary facilities
• Work alongside NNPs and neonatology (available via telehealth 24/7)
• Utilize ventilators, BCPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula
• Read cardiac strips; no monitor technicians on unit
• Float to other departments as needed per hospital policy

Required Certifications

• BLS (AHA)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• STABLE Certification

Contract Details

• 13 weeks
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Orientation provided; must be in state for orientation week
• 60-mile radius; driver's license required
