Emergency Department RN — Night Shift | Asheville, NC

This is a 13-week travel contract in a high-volume, fast-paced Emergency Department. The night shift runs 18:45–07:15, with 36 guaranteed hours per week.

The Unit

The ED manages a broad and complex patient population, including medical emergencies, behavioral health holds, and stroke cases. The department is known for strong teamwork and serves a highly diverse, multicultural community. Techs support cardiac monitoring, , and internal processing. Unit clerks are available on both days and nights.

Schedule & Float

• Every other weekend required
• Block scheduling is not available; scheduling is based on departmental needs
• No floating outside the ED, but must be comfortable floating to all sections within the ED

Required Certifications (before start date unless noted)

• ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
• ENPC within 90 days of hire

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year in an emergency department setting
• Experience in a high-volume ED strongly preferred
• Strong teamwork mentality with the ability to coach peers and adapt in real time
• Flexibility to work across all areas of the ED

Patient Experience

Staff are expected to follow AIDET communication standards, maintain respectful patient interactions, and keep patient boards updated throughout each visit.

Dress Code

Navy scrubs required.
