This Emergency Department travel assignment is located in Highlands, NC, offering night shift coverage in a community ED setting.

Shift & Schedule

• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Rotating weekends; no on-call except during low-census flex periods
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• 13-week contract starting September 15, 2026

Unit Overview

The ED handles standard emergency presentations across all acuity levels, following ENA guidelines for patient ratios. The department runs a seasonal mid-shift (10:00–10:00) from May through September. Staffing is lean, making adaptability and independent clinical judgment essential. Floating to med/surg is possible but minimized.

Required Certifications & Licensure

• Active RN license
• BLS, ACLS, PALS

Preferred Certifications

• TNCC, ENPC, or NRP
• CEN, CPEN, or CTRN

Clinical Scope

Candidates should be comfortable with the full scope of standard emergency department procedures across a diverse patient population. A strong customer service orientation and the ability to work effectively in a small-team environment are essential.
