Emergency Department RN — Night Shift | Burlington, NC

13-Week Travel Contract | Nights 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

This fast-paced Emergency Department cares for patients across all age groups — neonates through geriatrics — with a high-acuity mix that includes cancer, sepsis, medical emergencies, and behavioral health presentations. The department supports stroke and STEMI response, as well as women's health and cardiac catheterization services.

Schedule & Coverage

• Three 12-hour nights per week (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM; occasional 3:00 PM – 3:00 AM flexibility)
• Up to every other weekend required; holiday coverage as needed
• No call required
• Self-scheduling

Required Certifications

• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS
• STARR / Behavioral Population certification

Clinical Skills Required

• BiPAP/CPAP management
• Blood product administration
• Ventilated patient care
• Central line care and management
• Continuous IV sedation and vasopressors
• Procedural sedation administration and monitoring
• Stroke and STEMI care
• ABG interpretation and dysrhythmia management
• ; ICP monitoring; phlebotomy

Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
• First-time travelers welcome
• STEMI and stroke facility experience required
• Active RN license required at time of submission
• Must pass a compliance EKG exam (two attempts allowed)

Additional Requirements

• No local candidates within 50 miles
• No open background cases
• Third-party education verification required
• Travelers may be floated to additional campus locations as needed
• Orientation includes non-billable modules (approximately 2–4 hours)
