Medical-Surgical Nurse – Rotating 3x12 Shifts

Position Overview

You'll care for adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients across a range of post-operative and acute medical conditions, including joint replacements, weight loss surgery, and general surgery recovery.

Shift & Schedule

• Rotating 3x12-hour shifts (days and nights)

• Weekend coverage: 4 shifts per contract
• Orientation: 12 hours
• Every-other-holiday availability required

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of charge nurse experience
• Current BLS certification (AHA only)
• Active PA or Compact nursing license at time of submission

Clinical Skills & Scope

You'll manage patients with complex post-operative and medical needs, including:

• Central lines, PICCs, ports, and peripheral IV management
• Tracheostomy and airway care
• Chest tubes and surgical drains
• BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow oxygen delivery
• Feeding tubes and ostomy care
• Continuous bladder irrigation and peritoneal dialysis
• Pain management and dysrhythmia monitoring
• Wound care including Wound Vac management

Interdisciplinary Team

Work alongside IV specialists, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, social services, and rapid response teams.

Floating & Start Requirements

• Willingness to float within the hospital and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius
• Fingerprinting, drug screen, and labs must be completed within 48 hours of signing
• All compliance cleared by the Wednesday prior to start
