Night Shift RN – Medical-Surgical Telemetry

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical Telemetry nurse for night shift coverage. This is a 13-week contract role working three 12-hour shifts per week (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM).

Key Requirements

• Minimum 12 months of permanent Med/Tele experience
• Permanent Ohio nursing license or current compact license (in hand at submission)
• Active BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required prior to start
• One professional reference from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in Med/Tele (from past 12 months)
• Charge RN references accepted

Clinical Expectations

You'll manage telemetry-monitored patients on the medical-surgical unit, with responsibilities including patient care coordination, ECG monitoring, and interdisciplinary communication. During orientation, you will complete an ECG rhythm recognition assessment and safeMedicate evaluation; passing scores are mandatory. You have a maximum of two attempts to pass both assessments.

Compliance & Documentation

• COVID-19 and flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions available)
• Background check and fingerprinting must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing
• Drug screening (10-panel + nicotine) required within 12 months of start and updated annually
• Pre-start modules required; average 6–15 hours
• Annual hands-on competency may apply for continuous contracts
