Emergency Department Nurse
Position Overview
The facility's Emergency Department seeks an experienced RN for a 16-week assignment. You'll provide compassionate, high-quality care in a fast-paced, high-volume setting serving a diverse, multicultural community.
Shift & Schedule
- Shift: 18:45–07:15 (nights)
- Contract: 16 weeks
- Schedule: Every other weekend; must be flexible to meet department scheduling needs
- Floating: No floating outside the ED, but you must be willing to float to all sections within the department
Clinical Environment
You'll care for high-acuity patients across medical, trauma, stroke, and behavioral health populations. The facility's trauma center and comprehensive stroke center designation means you'll encounter diverse, complex presentations requiring strong critical thinking and fast decision-making.
Required Qualifications & Certifications
- Minimum 2 years' nursing experience; at least 1 year in an ER setting
- Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS, and ENPC (obtain before hire date)
- Strong teamwork mentality, ability to coach and give real-time feedback
- Flexibility to work all ED areas
- Previous experience in a Level II trauma center or comprehensive stroke center preferred; prior HCA experience a plus
