Cardiac Operating Room Technician – CVOR

Position Overview

The facility seeks an experienced Cardiac Operating Room Technician (CST) to join a high-performing surgical team. This is a 9-week contract assignment working days, 06:00–16:30, Monday–Thursday (4×10 schedule).

Requirements

• CST certification and BLS required
• Minimum 2 prior travel assignments
• Extensive CVOR scrub experience mandatory
• First assist experience preferred

Clinical Scope

You'll provide scrub and support services across a robust cardiac and thoracic surgical program. Procedures include CABG, valve replacement, VAD insertion, TAVR, VATS, lobectomy, pacemaker/AICD placement, septal myectomy, Ross procedure, EVH, IABP insertion, femoral cannulation, and circulatory arrest cases.

Unit Environment

• 6 operating rooms with surgical support staff (unit secretary, charge nurse, PCA, core tech)
• Cases are efficient and well-organized—not a training facility
• Infrequent floating may be required
• On-call shifts rotated among staff
• Hospital-provided scrubs; standard surgical attire policy applies
