Registered Nurse – Stepdown Unit
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its Stepdown unit. This role provides care to patients transitioning from intensive care or recovering from acute illness, requiring skilled monitoring and clinical judgment in a supportive environment.
Shift & Schedule
- Days: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: October 19, 2026
- Float Requirements: You may be asked to float to Medical/Surgical, Telemetry, or other units as needed, based on your clinical experience and facility needs.
Requirements
- Current California RN license
- Minimum 2 years of experience in stepdown or similar acute care setting
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- NIHSS certification in hand
- COVID-19 vaccination required (no exemptions)
What You'll Do
Care for patients with complex medical and surgical conditions. You'll perform assessments, administer medications, monitor vital signs, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient recovery and safe transitions of care.
Charting & Onboarding
- Charting system: Paragon (training provided)
- You'll complete required courses (Assaultive Behavior and Fire Card) within 30 days of your start date as part of onboarding
- Documentation due 2 Mondays prior to start date
