Pre/Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) – RN

Position Overview

You'll care for patients recovering from a wide range of surgical procedures in a structured, Monday-Friday day and evening schedule.

Shift & Schedule

• 12-hour shifts: Day and Evening (3 PM–12 AM)
• Monday–Friday, with 2 Fridays and 2 Mondays per 4-week rotation
• 12-hour call requirement per 4-week period (1-hour response time)
• No nights, no weekends
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• 13-week contract

Clinical Scope

You'll manage patients recovering from orthopedic, ENT, ophthalmology, gynecology, urology, endoscopy, bronchoscopy, and podiatry procedures. Responsibilities include:

• ICU patients recovering post-operatively
• Airway management and respiratory support (CPAP, BiPap, mechanical ventilation)
• ECG strip interpretation
• Collaboration with a dedicated house supervisor and charge nurse

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year PACU or perioperative nursing experience
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA) required
• Comfortable floating to other pre/post units as needed
• OR scrubs required

Orientation

Up to 3 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided.
