Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Nurse — Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a compassionate PCU nurse to join the interdisciplinary care team on the night shift (7:00 PM–7:00 AM). You'll provide direct patient care and clinical expertise to a diverse population requiring intermediate-level monitoring and intervention.
Clinical Scope
You'll care for patients across a range of acute and post-procedure conditions, including:
- Cardiac care: CHF, ablation, angiogram, pacemaker placement
- Vascular procedures: TCAR, EVAR
- Acute/critical care: DKA, stroke, sepsis
Shift & Schedule
- Hours: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
- Guaranteed: 36 or 48 hours per week
- Weekends/Holidays: Every other weekend and holiday rotation
- Float requirement: Required to float to all inpatient units and the Emergency Department
- Contract duration: 13 weeks
- Orientation dates available: October 26, November 9, November 23, December 7
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years nursing experience
- Active Iowa or compact state nursing license
- Active BLS (AHA, ARC, or US Military)
- Active ACLS (AHA, ARC, or US Military)
- Active NIHSS Certification
- Valid driver's license
- One Supervisory Reference Form (within 2 years)
- First-time travelers welcome
