Float Pool RN – Telemetry/Med-Surg Nights

Location: Oxnard/Camarillo, CA | Shift: 12-Hour Nights, 7 PM – 7:30 AM | Contract: 13 Weeks

This float pool position is based at one facility's Telemetry unit and requires the ability to float to a sister facility approximately 9 miles away. Travelers must be comfortable working across multiple units and patient populations.

Primary Unit – Telemetry

• High-acuity patient population including ia, end-stage renal disease, post-cath lab, respiratory distress, CHF, and COPD
• Primary care nursing model; tech support varies by census and is not guaranteed
• Non-titrating drips: amiodarone, cardizem, heparin
• BiPAP/CPAP patients; no mechanical vents
• Nurses must independently read telemetry strips
• May float to additional med-surg and telemetry units, as well as the ED for med-surg/tele holds

Secondary Site – Acute Care Unit

• Combined telemetry, med-surg unit (travelers will not be assigned to DOU)
• Post-surgical, orthopedic, and cardiac patient populations
• Non-titrating drips (amiodarone, cardizem); BiPAP/CPAP patients
• Strip reading required

Requirements

• 2–3 years of RN experience required; travel experience preferred
• Active ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Drip experience required; chest tube experience preferred
• Scrubs: Navy

Schedule Details

• 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• One major and one minor holiday required
• Guaranteed 36 hours/week
• Cancellation policy: up to 4 shifts per 13-week contract
