Stepdown Nurse – Night Shift

Position Details

• Shift: 12-hour nights, 7 PM – 7 AM
• Schedule: Every other weekend, with first-float responsibility
• Contract Duration: 91 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Start Date: November 9, 2026

Requirements

• Current RN license
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• BSN not required

The Role

You'll provide care to stepdown patients in an acute care setting during night hours. Responsibilities include monitoring post-acute patients, managing transitions of care, and responding to changing patient needs. You'll use electronic charting to document care and communicate with the interdisciplinary team.

What to Expect

• Every-other-weekend schedule with rotation into first-float assignments
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week period (3 shifts for shorter assignments)
• Night shift pace in an acute care environment
• Collaboration with day-shift staff and night teams
