Travel RN – Telemetry Float Pool | Oxnard, CA

13-Week Contract | 12-Hour Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

This is a float pool telemetry position based at one facility, with required floating to a sister campus approximately 9 miles away. Candidates must be comfortable working across multiple units and settings.

Shift & Schedule

• 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend (first to float)
• 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• One major and one minor holiday required
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week

Primary Unit – Telemetry

• High-acuity patient population: ia, CHF, COPD, end-stage renal disease, respiratory distress, post-cath lab recovery
• Primary care nursing model; tech support is limited and not guaranteed
• Non-titrating drips in use: amiodarone, cardizem, heparin
• Nurses must read telemetry strips independently; monitor techs assist but RN sign-off required
• BiPAP/CPAP patients; no ventilators
• Chest tube experience preferred
• Float coverage to additional telemetry, med-surg, and ER holds units

Secondary Campus – ACU (Telemetry/Med-Surg Combination)

• Acuity ranges from med-surg to step-down; travelers will not be assigned to DOU patients
• Common diagnoses include post-surgical, orthopedic, and cardiac cases
• Strip reading and drip experience required

Requirements

• Active RN license
• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required
• Minimum 2–3 years of RN experience; travel experience preferred
• Drip experience required; chest tube experience preferred
• Scrub color: Navy

Cancellation Policy

Up to 4 shifts may be cancelled over a 13-week assignment.
