Travel RN – Postpartum
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its postpartum unit. This is a 13-week contract position working nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM).
About the Unit
The postpartum unit is a busy, collaborative environment caring for high-risk mothers and newborns. You'll manage 3–4 mother-baby couplets per shift in a close-knit team of nurses and nursing support staff. The unit handles a high volume of deliveries and maintains a flexible, supportive culture for travel nurses.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive postpartum care, including monitoring for complications
- Support breastfeeding and newborn care
- Manage postpartum hemorrhage assessments and interventions
- Perform point-of-care glucose monitoring
- Assist with circumcisions and hypertension management
- Monitor vital signs and cardiac function using standard monitoring equipment
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of acute care postpartum hospital experience
- Current BLS certification
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
Preferred Experience
- High-risk postpartum care
- Level 2 Nursery experience
