PCU / Stepdown

Progressive Care / Telemetry RN — Night Shift | Asheville, NC

This 13-week contract (with potential for extension) places you on a cardiac progressive care unit managing a high-acuity cardiovascular patient population. The night shift runs 18:45–07:15, with every other weekend required.

Patient Population & Clinical Scope

The unit cares for patients presenting with CHF, MI, chest pain, arrhythmias, pulmonary hypertension, valvular disease, endocarditis, DKA, and those recovering post-cardiac catheterization, stent placement, pacemaker implantation, ICD placement, or ablation. Bedside cardioversion is performed on the unit.

Required Skills

• Stepdown or progressive care experience
• Telemetry monitoring experience
• Proficiency with titratable cardiac IV drips: nitroglycerin, amiodarone, Cardizem, dopamine, dobutamine, heparin, insulin drip, and diuretics

Preferred Skills

• Experience with prostacyclin therapy (Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin)
• Relief charge experience

Certifications Required

• BLS
• ACLS

• Shift: Nights, 18:45–07:15
• Contract: 13 weeks | 36 guaranteed hours/week
• Float: MedSurg, stepdown, and ER holding units
• Dress code: All white, all navy blue, or white top with navy blue pants
