Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Location: Houston, Texas
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
About the Unit
Join a busy Labor & Delivery department managing the full spectrum of maternal care. You'll work in an environment with strong clinical support, including 24/7 access to anesthesia, neonatal services, and hospitalist coverage. The unit includes a dedicated maternal assessment center for of pregnant patients and provides comprehensive antepartum testing and care.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct care to laboring patients, including continuous electronic fetal monitoring
- Support vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections
- Manage postoperative recovery in PACU
- Administer medications per unit protocols (Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, antihypertensives)
- Perform or assist with procedures including fetal scalp electrode placement and intrauterine pressure catheter placement
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license (Texas)
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
- AWHONN Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring certification
Preferred
- OR circulation experience for cesarean sections
- Experience with FSE and IUPC placement
