This is a 13-week night shift travel contract on a flex Stepdown/MedSurg unit in Morgantown, WV. The unit serves a diverse medical patient population and operates as a flex unit, accommodating both floor and step-down acuity based on patient and hospital needs.
Shift Details
- 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-hour nights
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- Weekends required (position posted as a weekend role)
- Approximately half of recognized holidays expected
Clinical Scope
- Titration responsibilities: heparin, insulin, anti-hypertensives, antiarrhythmics, phenobarbital, ketamine, morphine/dilaudid/fentanyl PCAs, and TPN
- Respiratory support includes CPAP and BiPAP on the floor; HiFlow also present in step-down (ventilator adjustments escalated to ICU)
- Remote telemetry surveillance available; RNs are not required to read their own strips
- Clinical Associates (CAs) provide support staffing
- Charge RNs and House Supervisors present 24/7
Requirements
- BLS (AHA) required
- Experience managing both med-surg and step-down patient loads required
- Proficiency with electronic health records required
- Active RN license (willing to wait for licensure)
Additional Details
- Float: first to float to other floor/step-down units
- Scrub color: any combination of royal blue and white
- No call or standby requirement
- Cancellation policy: up to 2 shifts per 13-week assignment
