Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry

Location: Lexington, KY

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: November 2, 2026

About the Role

The facility is seeking an RN for its Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit to provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with a range of medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions. You'll work on the night shift managing patient loads of 4–6 patients, with responsibility for continuous cardiac monitoring, medication administration (including cardiac drips), pre- and post-operative care, and coordination across the interdisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the care team
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs continuously; recognize and respond to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
• Manage wound care, pain management, and post-operative patient needs
• Coordinate care for patients with chronic and acute conditions (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory diagnoses)
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately
• Ensure infection control and fall prevention protocols are followed
• Participate in quality improvement and discharge planning activities

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky (or compact license as applicable)
• ADN or ASN (BSN preferred)
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Minimum 1+ years of acute-care Med-Surg/Telemetry experience
• Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and collaboration skills
