Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry

Location: Lexington, KY

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: November 2, 2026

About the Role

Join the facility's medical-surgical/telemetry unit to provide direct patient care for adults with a wide range of medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions. You'll manage a typical patient load of 4–6 patients per shift, continuously monitoring cardiac rhythms and vital signs while delivering evidence-based nursing care grounded in the nursing process.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs; recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments, including cardiac drips as ordered
• Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound management and pain control
• Coordinate discharge planning with case management and physicians
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the medical record
• Uphold infection control and fall prevention standards
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky (or compact license as applicable)
• BLS and ACLS certification
• ADN or ASN (BSN preferred)
• Minimum 1+ years of medical-surgical or telemetry nursing experience
• Demonstrated telemetry/EKG interpretation competency
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work weekends and holidays as scheduled
