Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry

Location: Lexington, KY

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: November 2, 2026

About the Role

Join the facility's medical-surgical/telemetry unit providing comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with a range of medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions. You'll work nights on a dynamic team where clinical skills and patient advocacy make a direct impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care including comprehensive assessments, medication administration, and treatment implementation
• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs; respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Manage pre- and post-operative patients, including wound care and pain management
• Coordinate care for patients with chronic and acute conditions (cardiac, respiratory, diabetes, and others)
• Provide patient and family education on conditions, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions
• Collaborate with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and the interdisciplinary team on care planning and discharge coordination
• Document assessments and interventions accurately in the patient record
• Uphold infection control and fall prevention protocols
• Support a healing environment and contribute to unit quality improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license (state or compact)
• ADN or ASN (BSN preferred)
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum 1+ years of medical-surgical/telemetry experience
• Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and collaborative skills
