Cardiothoracic Operating Room (CVOR) – Registered Nurse

Position Overview

The facility seeks an experienced RN Circulator for its cardiothoracic operating room. This is a 13-week contract assignment on day shift, 06:00–18:30.

Experience Required

Extensive expertise as an RN Circulator in cardiothoracic surgery is essential. You must demonstrate proficiency with a broad range of open-heart and thoracic procedures, including:

• CABG, valve replacement, VAD insertions, TAVR
• VATS, lobectomy, pacemaker/AICD insertions
• Septal myectomy, Ross procedure, EVH, IABP insertions, femoral cannulation, circulatory arrest

Scrub/first assist experience is preferred but not required.

Unit Details

The operating room runs 6 ORs with straightforward, efficient case management. Staffing includes one unit secretary, charge nurse, PCA, and core tech per shift. All cases require one scrub and one circulator; pump cases also require a first assist/heart holder (RN or CST).

You may be asked to float as needed. On-call shifts will be rotated among staff.

Requirements

• Current RN license
• BLS certification
• No first-time travelers

What to Expect

High-acuity surgical cases, strong team collaboration, and consistent case volume. This is not a training facility—cases move efficiently with excellent surgical outcomes.

Hospital will provide scrubs; surgical attire policy applies.
