Med/Tele RN — Night Shift | Rural Acute Care | Lufkin, TX

This 13-week contract (with a potential start of late October 2026) places you in a rural acute care setting with a stable, long-tenured leadership team that is experienced managing a traveler-supported workforce. Candidates who thrive here are team players who bring strong independent practice skills and a genuine commitment to community-based care.

Shift & Schedule

• 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Holidays required
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated; scheduling is determined by unit needs
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week

Clinical Scope

• Med/Tele unit managing patients with CHF, diabetes, ia, and CKD
• RNs are responsible for reading tele strips; monitor techs assist with continuous monitoring
• Heparin drip titration required; no other titratable drips
• CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen patients on unit

Float Requirements

• May float to other Med/Surg units and occasionally to PCU for tele-hold patients pending transfer

Orientation

• 2 shadow/orientation shifts upon start

Requirements

• Active RN license (Texas or compact)
• BLS (AHA) required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 18 months of recent Med/Tele experience
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Rural hospital experience preferred
• Navy blue scrubs

Cancellation Policy

• Facility may cancel up to 4 shifts over a 13-week assignment
