Cardiac Telemetry Nurse
Location: Kansas City, MO
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (4 x 12-hour days)
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Start Date: December 14, 2025
Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week
About the Unit
What You'll Do
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, EKGs, and telemetry strips
- Manage post-cardiac procedural care including ablations, catheterizations, and permanent pacemaker placements
- Administer and titrate IV medications (insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, Amiodarone)
- Perform IV insertions, nasogastric tube placement, chest tube maintenance, and Foley insertions
- Manage temporary pacemakers
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care aligned with facility values
Requirements
- RN license (current and valid)
- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Cardiac telemetry or PCU/ICU experience required
- Strong ability to read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips
- Experience with post-cardiac procedural care essential
Scheduling
- Full-time commitment
- 3 weekend shifts per scheduling period required
- May float to other units based on demonstrated competency
- Navy blue scrubs (black pants with navy top acceptable)
Fast-paced environment with a collaborative, family-like culture. Many contract nurses have successfully transitioned to permanent roles.
