Labor & Delivery – Night Shift RN
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery nurse for a 13-week contract. You'll work three 12-hour night shifts (19:00–07:30), every other weekend, with no on-call requirements.
Clinical Scope
This role focuses on comprehensive L&D care, including:
- Circulating and recovering cesarean section patients
- Managing pain assessment and pain management protocols
- Supporting vaginal and high-risk deliveries
- Fetal monitoring and interpretation of fetal heart rate patterns
- Neonatal resuscitation and newborn care
- Antepartum and postpartum patient management
- Couplet care and breastfeeding support
Requirements
- Valid California RN license
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications
- Minimum 2 years L&D or obstetric nursing experience
- Ability to float within the hospital as needed
- Two supervisor references required
- COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions available)
What to Know
- BSN preferred
- Contract includes orientation modules (non-billable hours)
- Labs required within 48–72 hours of hire
- 48 guaranteed hours per week
