Registered Nurse – Emergency Psychiatric Services
Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Contract: 13 weeks
Location: Lewiston, ME
About the Role
You'll be a vital member of the patient care team in a Crisis Psychiatric Unit, providing direct and indirect care to patients aged 5 and up. Using the nursing process, you'll develop and update individualized interdisciplinary plans of care, evaluate patient outcomes, and connect patients with essential resources.
Patient Population & Clinical Scope
The unit treats a diverse range of psychiatric conditions, including major depression, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorder, and psychotic disorders. You'll also work with patients seeking detoxification support and those with concurrent medical needs.
Requirements
- Valid State of Maine RN license (no licensure hits)
- 2-Year Associates degree or higher
- At least 1 year of previous experience in mental health nursing
- BLS Certification
- Current CPI training prior to start date
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to manage stress, make decisions under pressure, and work as a flexible team player
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius
