Emergency Department RN — Kansas City, MO

Nights | 4×12 | 13-Week Contract

The facility's Emergency Department is seeking an experienced RN for a mid-evening shift (14:00–02:00) with 48 guaranteed hours available. This is a fast-paced ED environment with three distinct care areas: Rapid, Main, and a psych-safe area (POD 3).

Clinical Scope

Nurses in this department manage a wide range of acuities and are expected to be proficient in or comfortable with:

• Ventilator and BiPAP management
• Arterial line placement and monitoring
• EKG interpretation
• Chest tube insertion/management
• Port placement
• Rapid infusion (Belmont)
• De-escalation of behavioral health patients

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong prioritization and time management skills
• De-escalation training required; CPI certification preferred
• Active RN license and applicable ED certifications
• Ability to float to a nearby ED location as needed

What to Expect

• Shift: 14:00–02:00
• Schedule: Minimum 4 weekend shifts and 2 Fridays per 4-week schedule; 2 major and 2 minor holidays required
• Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs
• Guaranteed Hours: 48 hrs/week option available
