ICU Travel RN — North Charleston, SC

Nights | 13-Week Contract

This mixed ICU role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced critical care nurses, with exposure to both cardiovascular and neurological patient populations in a clinically rich environment.

Shift & Schedule

• 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Every other weekend and holidays on a rotating basis

Unit Overview

The ICU manages high-acuity patients across cardiovascular and neurological subspecialties. Clinical scope includes post-op day 0 CABG, impella and balloon pump management, Swan-Ganz catheterization, advanced hemodynamics, and aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage care. Nurses also support EVD and bolt monitoring, Arctic Sun-induced hypothermia protocols, and head and neck flap procedures. Travelers may float to the ED or PCU to manage ICU and PCU holds.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 36 months RN experience, including at least 12 months in an ICU
• Proficiency managing ventilated patients
• CRRT experience
• Advanced hemodynamics and phlebotomy
• Telemetry strip interpretation
• Ability to administer inhaled treatments (nebulizers, inhalers) outside the ICU
• Bedside shift report required at every handoff

Certifications Required

• BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale

Preferred

• BSN
• TNCC or other advanced certifications
• Prior travel nursing experience
