ICU Nurse – Night Shift

Position Overview

This is a 13-week contract with guaranteed 36 hours per week.

About the Unit

You'll care for high-acuity patients including post-operative cardiac surgery, neuro-critical cases, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring. The unit manages a broad scope: fresh post-op CABG patients, mechanical support devices (Impella, balloon pumps, Swan Ganz catheters), aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage patients with EVDs and bolts, and induced hypothermia protocols. You'll also develop skills in head and neck flap procedures—the facility offers one of only 14 such programs nationally.

Scheduling & Float

Work three 12-hour shifts per week, including every other weekend and holidays in rotation with staff nurses. Travelers float first to the ED or PCU as needed.

Requirements

• RN license with 36+ months experience; minimum 1 year in ICU.
• Previous travel assignment preferred.
• Comfort managing ventilator-dependent patients and reading telemetry.
• CRRT, advanced hemodynamics, and phlebotomy skills preferred.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale.
• Preferred: BSN, TNCC, CVICU experience.
• Navy uniform required.
