Med/Surg Telemetry RN — Night Shift | Burlington, NC

This inpatient telemetry unit specializes in stroke (neuro) patient care alongside a diverse population of adults and geriatric patients managing multiple comorbidities. The unit maintains a fast-paced environment supported by a full interdisciplinary team including pharmacy, respiratory services, rapid response, physical therapy, and social services.

Contract Details

• Schedule: Nights, 3×12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), every other weekend and holidays as needed
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: November 2026
• Float: Required — travelers may be floated across multiple health system campuses

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience (first-time travelers welcome)
• Telemetry: remote monitoring required; on-unit monitoring strongly preferred
• Dysrhythmia/EKG interpretation — all RNs must pass a compliance EKG exam (2 attempts allowed)
• Feeding tube care and management
• Port access and management, blood product administration
• Central line, PICC line, and peripheral IV care; IV insertion
• CVA/stroke patient management, nasal cannula oxygen delivery
• Isolation precautions and wound care/wound vac

Required Certifications

• BLS
• NIHSS

Additional Requirements

• Active RN license in hand at time of submission
• Electronic charting experience required
• No local candidates within 50 miles
• COVID-19 and flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Third-party education verification required
• No open background cases permitted
• Orientation: 24 hours (non-billable compliance modules average 2–4 additional hours)
